Flagship Samsung smartphones often used either high-end Snapdragon 8×0 or Exynos chipsets, while mid-range and entry-level offering relied on Snapdragon chipsets, but that could change soon. Samsung is reportedly interested in MediaTek’s chipset and could use them to power an upcoming 5.7-inch smartphone.
According to a benchmark listing, a MediaTek chipset with the model number MT6757 and a 2.3 GHz octa-core processor powers a mid-range Samsung model, which looks to be the 2017 version of the Galaxy On7. The rest of the specs include a 5.7-inch 1080p display, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, a 12 MP rear-facing camera, a 12 MP front-facing camera, and Android 7.0 Nougat.
