Only hours after it was reported that Samsung could offer compensation options for the ongoing Note 7 recall and exchange program, Samsung has now officially announced the upgrade program for Galaxy Note7 users that is open until November 30 this year.
The program is currently only available in South Korea, but it is expected that other markets will have similar, if not the same program. Users who have already exchanged their Galaxy Note 7 unit for a Galaxy S7/S7 edge are also eligible for it. Users in the upgrade program will pay only half of the price of a Galaxy S7 device before exchanging it for the Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy Note 8. Also included in the program is a 50% discount on LCD repair costs.
