Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4 coming to the Unites States in April…

216

Samsung silently unveiled the rugged Galaxy Xcover 4 in the first day of this month and said Europeans would be able to pick it up in April for €259.

However, we’re expecting the Galaxy Xcover 4 to arrive in the United States as well, even if Samsung hasn’t yet confirmed the information. As some of you might know, the predecessor rugged Galaxy Xcover phone made its debut in June, but none of the carriers in the U.S. offered it when it hit the shelves.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 was available in the U.S. exclusively through Amazon, and it looks like the retailer will be the first to bring it to this particular market once again.

One thing that we know for sure is the Galaxy Xcover 4 has just cleared Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which means it’s just one step to being introduced in the United States.

Still, we’re not convinced the rugged smartphone will arrive in the U.S. until June, just like the Galaxy Xcover 3 did back in 2015. Obviously, there’s a chance the handset will be launched as early as April.

Samsung’s rugged Galaxy Xcover 3 is mid-range phone powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core processor that’s paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage.

It sports a 4.99-inch HD (720p) display with Corning Gorilla Glass coating, as well as a decent 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Also, Samsung included a 2,800 mAh battery inside, as well as 5-megapixel camera on the front.

More importantly, the Galaxy Xcover 4 will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box, and it features IP68 certification, meaning it can withstand being submerged in water at depths of up to 1.5m.
