It seems logical that with every new series, products get better, but maintain the same price tag. That unfortunately doesn’t work every time as companies tend to raise the prices. The same goes for the upcoming Galaxy S8, as the phone is now rumoured to cost up to 20% more than its predecessor, the current flagship Galaxy S7.
Goldman Sachs says that the primary reason for price hike is the addition of enhanced AI digital assistant, which will drive up raw material prices. Since the Galaxy S7 already costs $799, expect to pay around $950 for the base model.
If you’re still fine with that and want the phone, you will still have to wait for April, as the release may be pushed back to April event in New York.
