It was only recently that Samsung announced the launch date for the Galaxy S8, which was followed by a leak that revealed the handset in the flesh through multiple videos. Now, a new leak is offering us a glimpse at the handset from various angles. The new images are revealing an interesting aspect of the device’s front side: the top and bottom bezels aren’t sized equally, with the top part larger than the one at the bottom.
This is likely a design decision made because of the on-screen navigation buttons, which will be seen on an Android phone from Samsung for the first time. The phone seen in the images is the 5.8-inch version of the Galaxy S8, and the side images reveal an extra button that is said to be dedicated to Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant that will be debuting with the company’s upcoming flagship. The USB Type-C port is visible at the bottom, and so is the rather thin profile of the entire device.
There is always a chance that these images could be fake, but at this point, it isn’t hard to believe that these might be the real deal. Samsung is certainly going to be unhappy about all the leaks, but it isn’t something that is in the company’s hands, so we should be seeing more details and images of the Galaxy S8 showing up online in the coming weeks before it goes official on March 29th.
