The popular repair website has just got their hands on Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones – the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Both models have been torn down by iFixit to find out how hard or easy it is to repair the phones and to learn more about its design.
According to them, the new Galaxy phones are not easy to fix and have received repairability scores of just 4 out of 10, which is a slight step up from last year’s Galaxy S7, which scored a 3 out of 10.
Both handsets are pretty much the same on the inside, except for the larger battery on the Plus model. The biggest problem to open the phones is the glass-on-glass construction that is paired with strong adhesives. If you have never done this, it would be very hard for you to replace the battery or the front glass.
