Starting with the Galaxy S4 Active from 2013, AT&T released Active variants of Samsung’s flagship smartphones each and every year. But will the near-bezel-less Galaxy S8 also get a rugged version? Well, SamMobile (a trusted source) says that it will.
Reportedly, a Samsung Galaxy S8 Active (model number SM-G892A) is currently in the works, though it’s not clear when it’s supposed to be launched. Allegedly codenamed Cruiser, the Galaxy S8 Active will almost certainly feature a tough, MIL-STD-810G certified exterior, in addition to dust and water resistance.
While there are no other details about this S8 Active right now, the handset probably sports a 5.8-inch display, like the regular Galaxy S8, not a 6.2-inch one like the S8+. It will be interesting to see if the screen of the new phone is curved, though we assume it’s not.
Since the Galaxy S7 Active was announced in June 2016, we’re thinking that the Galaxy S8 Active could be officially unveiled in the coming months. Stay tuned!
