Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) shown off in leaked press render

Smartphone leakster Evan Blass today posted a press render of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) lower mid-range handset. The handset will carry the model number SM-J327P and is going to succeed the Galaxy J3 (2016) announced in November last year.

The render reveals a design that is strikingly similar to the Galaxy J3 (2016), with very few minor changes such as slightly more rounded corners and different positioning for the front-facing camera. In terms of specs, the Galaxy J3 (2017) is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4 GHz. While there is no word on the storage, the smartphone will be a slight upgrade over its predecessor in terms of the amount of RAM on offer at 2GB. The display size will remain similar at 5-inches, with the resolution likely to be unchanged as well. It is going to be a similar story in the battery life department as well, as rumors point to a 2,600mAh capacity battery inside the Galaxy J3 (2017).

However, thanks to the Snapdragon 430 SoC under the hood, we do expect the Galaxy J3 (2017) to support faster LTE networks as well as higher Wi-Fi speeds. On the software front, the smartphone is rumored to ship with the older Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box.

Since the Galaxy J3 (2016) was announced a year back, we think it does seem possible that the Galaxy J3 (2017) could be made official very soon.
