As more companies switching from LCD to OLED displays, display companies are having hard times meeting demand. Samsung Display is one of the largest out there, alongside Sharp, and to ensure that it maintains and even grows its lead, the company will expand its OLED production lines.
The South Korean tech giant has allegedly started its planned expansion and will invest $8.90 billion in 2017. The first new line is expected to start with the production in the fourth quarter of the year, and will make around 30,000 units of the sixth-generation OLED panels per month.
