Santa Barbara-based RightSignature, the provider of electronic signature services, as well as one of its customers–Farmers Insurance–has just been sued by competing electronic signature service RPost. According to a filing with the Texas Eastern District Court, RPost claims patent infringement over 4 different patents owned by the company. The lawsuit—Rmail Limited et al v. Right Signature, LLC et al–was filed on Friday. The lawsuit came at the same time that RPost also sued another, online electronic signature service competitor–DocuSign–for similar patent claims. RightSignature announced the addition of Farmer’s Insurance as a customer in May of last year. RPost also has operations in Los Angeles.
