Republic Wireless, an MVNO operating on the networks of Sprint and T-Mobile, is offering six months of free service with some phones. The offer comes as the service provider is spinning off from Bandwidth, its parent company. Included with the free service is 1 GB of monthly data and unlimited calls/texts.
You can attach the free plan to a Lenovo Moto Z Play for $349 between December 7 and December 12 or the Huawei Ascend 5W between December 13 and December 19.
The company is receiving $30 million in cash from Bandwidth as part of the spin-off.
The past five years have been an incredible ride as we’ve worked hard to save our customers tens of millions of dollars off their cell phone bills. However, the best days are still ahead of us. With this extraordinarily talented [staff] and all the benefits this spin-off provides, we will accelerate our mission to provide remarkably simple and affordable ways for people to stay in touch. – Chris Chaung, CEO, Republic Wireless
