Recipients of BrainWare Safari Brain Awareness Week Grants Announced

CHICAGO, IL (March 15, 2012) – Learning Enhancement Corporation (LEC) has announced the recipients of the BrainWare Safari Brain Awareness Week Grants Program, established in recognition of Brain Awareness Week, March 12-18, 2012 (www.dana.org).

The grants program supports the purpose of Brain Awareness Week in promoting a broader understanding of the importance of brain research and its contribution to effective learning and cognitive development in schools. Criteria for the grants included demonstration of ongoing efforts to promote awareness and understanding of the brain among students, teachers and parents; a commitment to effective program implementation; and assessing, documenting and sharing the impact of the program within the applicant’s community and with other educators and schools.

The nine schools who will be receiving grants to use BrainWare Safari cognitive skills development software:

Recipient of the 3-year school-wide license for an elementary school:

Whitaker Elementary School, Cincinnati, OH

Recipient of the 3-year school-wide license for a middle school:

Calumet Junior High, Calumet, IL

Recipients of a classroom license:

Cherry Gulch, Emmett, ID

Harmony Elementary School, Goshen, KY

Lighthouse Christian Academy, Merritt Island, FL

North Elementary, Morgantown, WV

Recipients of a student support license:

Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy, Colorado Springs, CO

Kitimat City High (Alternate Setting), Kitimat, BC

Lancashire Elementary School, Wilmington, DE
