Quanta expects 4Q16 notebook shipments to drop 2-3%
Aaron Lee, Taipei; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Friday 11 November 2016]

Quanta Computer shipped 10.9 million notebooks in the third quarter of 2016, increasing 2.83% on quarter, and expects shipments to decrease 2-3% in the fourth quarter sequentially and slip 0-5% on year in 2017, company vice chairman CC Leung said at a November 10 investors conference.

In the third quarter, notebooks accounted for 50-55% of consolidated revenues. Third-quarter net profit was less than the corresponding net operating profit by as much as NT$1.987 billion (US$63 million) and this was mainly due to large foreign exchange loss of NT$1.127 billion.
