Many rumours were pointing out that next-gen 2017 and early 2018 flagship smartphones would have Snapdragon 836 system-on-a-chip, but it looks like that is not going to happen. A new rumour points out that Qualcomm has no such chipset in the works and that Google will use Snapdragon 835 in the upcoming Pixel 2 smartphones.
At one point, even the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 was rumoured to arrive with the Snapdragon 836, but Qualcomm recently confirmed that it will use the Snapdragon 835.
The information about the fact that the Snapdragon 836 doesn’t exist is allegedly coming from an “extremely reliable source”.
