Purported Samsung Galaxy S8 press render leaks

233

The first press render of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 has leaked online today, showing off a dual-curved display and tiny bezels on the top as well as the bottom. As you can see above, Samsung has gotten rid of the physical home button, moving it to the back. However, unlike most other smartphones that feature the fingerprint scanner towards the center, Samsung has positioned the fingerprint scanner right next to the rear camera lens.

We can also see that the handset does not feature Samsung branding on the front. The Samsung logo can only be seen at the back of the smartphone. The rear of the device happens to be quite similar to the Galaxy S7 duo, except for the fingerprint scanner. From the front however, the Galaxy S8 is completely different and looks quite attractive thanks to the tiny bezels and the “all-screen” look.

The Galaxy S8 will be unveiled at an Unpacked event on March 29th in New York City. It will be going on sale in major markets around a month later, April 21 to be exact. Like the 2016 models, Samsung will have two models this year, one with a 5.8-inch display and the other with a larger 6.2-inch display. Both models will feature the Snapdragon 835 / Exynos 8895 SoC, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 64GB of onboard expandable storage, 12MP rear camera with an f/1.7 aperture lens, 8MP selfie camera, an iris scanner, Bixby virtual AI assistant, and water resistance.
