Purported renders of the Huawei P10 leaked online

Three alleged renders showing the Huawei P10 flagship smartphone appeared on the web today, courtesy of Chinese microblogging site Weibo. The renders suggest Huawei will be launching two variants of the P10 – one with a flat display and the other with a dual-curved display. In terms of the overall design language, the P10 doesn’t appear to be a major departure from the P9, but there are a few minor differences that will set it apart.

At the back, the P10 appears to have a dual-camera setup, similar to the layout we saw on the P9 last year. Similar to the P9, the dual-camera setup on the P10 will come with Leica branding, dual-LED flash, and a laser autofocus module. The fingerprint scanner however, seems to have been moved to the front, embedded inside the physical home button. Previously leaked renders of the Huawei P10 had shown the fingerprint scanner at the back, so there is some confusion regarding its placement on the final model. Of course, there is a possibility that Huawei has multiple prototypes of the P10 in testing, some featuring the fingerprint scanner on the front and others at the back.

The Huawei P10 is expected to go on sale in March or April this year and will be powered by the company’s in-house developed Kirin 960 chipset, paired with a generous 6GB of RAM. Multiple memory configurations could be on offer, so we cannot deny the possibility of a base variant with 4GB of RAM.
