Sony has sold more than 1 million PlayStation VR units. During the company’s last sales update in February, Sony revealed the system was at 915,000 sales. The virtual reality headset has only been out since October 2016.
A report from SuperData indicates the console-based system is far ahead of the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift, both of which are PC-based. Those had 420,000 and 243,000 sales by the end of 2016, respectively.
Sony considers a million units to be far from its end goal. There are 60 million PS4 consoles in use, so only a tiny portion have adopted console-based VR.
