Protective component maker Polytronics Technology (PTTC) expects its thermal conductive boards (TCBs) for automobile lamp applications to account for 5% of its total sales in 2016 and further increase to 10% in 2017, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report.
However, the company’s revenues for 2016 are expected to stay flat at around NT$1.674 billion (US$53.4 million) it recorded a year earlier as sales in the first half of the year were affected by slackened demand from China’s smartphone sector, said the paper.
The increasing adoption of Type-C connectors by smartphones will help ramp up shipments of its polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) devices in the second half of the year, the paper added.
The company posted revenues of NT$1.104 billion in the first eight months of 2016, down 0.18% from a year earlier.
The company’s stock price ended up NT$0.10 higher to finish at NT$61.70 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) during the September 22 session.
