Prisma Gets Offline Mode on Android and Video Editing Featur…

Prisma photo editing app was launched this summer and it quickly became one of the most popular image editing applications both on Android and iOS. The application is different from other photo editing apps due to its filter algorithm that employs multiple neural networks and even artificial intelligence, as surprising as that sounds.

A few weeks ago, the app’s creators announced that they were working on an update for Prisma, one that would bring video editing tools. And it seems that now the feature was introduced in the application. Prisma received video editing features that would allow users to apply artsy filters to their videos, according to TechCrunch.

It’s worth mentioning that the feature is currently in beta and only available on iOS, but it should arrive to Android soon. Users can record or pick a video from their phone’s gallery and select from one of the many available effects to apply.

Videos can be edited offline and the whole process is said to take a couple of minutes to complete, but that depends on the video’s length, resolution, and iPhone model. However, video length is limited to 15 seconds and Prisma offers 9 filter styles that users can choose from.

The next project for Prisma involves providing users with a feature for creating GIFs. Another recent update also allows users to apply filters while offline on Android devices. This means that they no longer need an Internet connection in order to convert their images, but would need to turn Wi-Fi on if they wish to download more styles.

The update is available on devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher, but might extend support to Android 4.4 KitKat as well.
