Pokemon Go is headed to the Apple Watch and during that expansion announcement at Apple’s iPhone 7 unveil, Niantic CEO John Hanke also revealed some updated figures for the game. According to Hanke, Pokemon Go has been downloaded over 500 million times since it launched on iOS/Android on July 6.
The rate at which Pokemon Go grew was faster than other top mobile games like Angry Birds. Pokemon Go would have grown even faster if it had been available in a larger set of countries shortly after launch.
All of those downloads have led to hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue and players have walked a collective 2.9 billion miles while in the game.
