Pixel Users Encounter Fingerprint Sensor Issue After Android…

Google recently rolled out Android 7.1.2 Nougat update to users of Nexus smartphones, as well as Pixel devices. It seems that the update has caused some major issues on the phone, namely regarding the fingerprint scanner.

It’s not uncommon that after a Google update Pixel or Nexus users to come across some issues that would make it very difficult to use their smartphones until Google rolls out a fix. There users have just encountered a problem with the fingerprint print sensor.

After updating to Android 7.1.2 Nougat, some Pixel and Nexus users have reported that their fingerprint sensor no longer works. Apparently, the issue affects Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, as well as LG made Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.

Attempts to solve the issue have failed

Apparently, the Pixel and Nexus Imprint sensors no longer grant access to devices, but the swipe down for notifications Moves gesture is still functional. Some users have tried to solve the issue by removing pre-existing fingerprints and starting from scratch, but that didn’t solve the problem.

It seems that an error message currently prevents new prints from being added to the smartphones. Google has yet to acknowledge the issue, but once the company does, it will start working on a fix, which will most likely arrive in the form of an update.

Recently, Pixel and Pixel XL owners have been dealing with a Bluetooth issue that affected their smartphones. After the February security patch update, the smartphones suddenly started losing Bluetooth connectivity.

Some users noticed that the Bluetooth failed to connect in cars and suddenly disconnected, while in some cases it simply switched off for no apparent reason. Google worked on the issue for nearly one month and finally rolled out a server-side update to fix the problem. Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones have been plagued with multiple issues, including with audio distortion and double-tap to wake feature.
