Unlocking your Chrome OS laptop with nothing more than a PIN code will soon be possible. Google is introducing an alternative to the usual password/username combo that will make it a little easier for users to log in. As of right now, the feature can be turned on in the developer channel with a flag change.
You can go to “chrome://flags” and then enable “chrome://flags/#quick-unlock-pin”. After you restart Chrome OS, you can set up a PIN in the settings area.
This feature was announced by Google engineer Francois Beaufort this past week.
