Philips announced their 492P8 Monitor, this ultra-wide screen offers a 49″ panel at a staggering aspect ratio of 32:9. Much like its vertical resolution, it’ll be priced $1,080 (let’s call it just over a 1000 bucks).
The 49-inch VA panel gets a resolution of 3840 x 1080 pixels with a 1800R bend. The display has a brightness of 600 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio up to 5,000:1 and 178º/178º vertical/horizontal viewing angles. Details lack, but it’ll get DisplayPort, VGA, and a pair of HDMI connectors, alongside two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a gigabit Ethernet port. The monitor is miles away from release, it is mentioned at Q2 2018.
