The rumored “Glossy Black” shade for the Galaxy S7 Edge will apparently be called Pearl Black.
According to SamMobile, the Pearl Black Galaxy S7 Edge will be going on sale in South Korea this week, December 9th to be exact. The color will not be the only thing that will differentiate it however. The Pearl Black Galaxy S7 Edge is also said to feature 128GB of onboard storage. Globally, the Galaxy S7 Edge is only offered in 32GB and 64GB storage variants.
The official renders of the Pearl Black Galaxy S7 Edge appear to be largely similar to the Onyx Black shade, although it should look “glossier” when you see it in person. And yes, that means it will be a bigger fingerprint magnet than the Onyx Black, so you will need to make sure you keep it clean all the time.
If you don’t live in South Korea, you probably shouldn’t be too excited, as the new Pearl Black color may not make it to markets outside Samsung’s home country. Even if it does launch in a few markets, it is expected to be less widely available than the Blue Coral color option that was introduced a few weeks back and has received great response from consumers so far. Singapore was actually one of the first markets where the new color was introduced, but it remains to be seen if the Pearl Black shade will be launched here.
