Pandora’s on-demand music streaming service is now live. For $10 per month, you can use Pandora Premium, which offers both radio-style streaming and on-demand Spotify-like streaming. the company confirmed last year that this option was coming.
Although internet radio-like services are still being used, Spotify and Apple Music have made it harder for them to attract users. Pandora has therefore shifted its focus so that it has a competitor in the on-demand market.
Some of the new app’s design is similar to Rdio, which Pandora acquired in 2015.
Based on your listening, Pandora Premium will recommend tracks.
An “add similar songs” option makes it easier to fill up playlists. Using the Music Genome Project, the app can populate a playlist with songs similar to those you’ve already added.
Pandora’s current services have 78 million users.
