Earlier this month we told you that the Oppo R9S will be unveiled by the manufacturer on October 19th. The phone is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display with a 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. Driving the device is a Snapdragon 625 chipset with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 506 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of internal storage. A 16MP rear-facing camera comes with an aperture of f/1.7, and the front-facing camera weighs in at 13MP. There is a 3010mAh battery inside that comes with Oppo’s own Super VOOC rapid charger.
Just the other day, the Oppo R9S went through the Geekbench benchmark test. The results confirmed that the Snapdragon 625 SoC will be under the hood. For the test, the clock speed of the chipset was listed at 2.02 GHz. Geekbench also confirmed that 4GB of RAM will be inside the device, with Android 6.0.1 pre-installed. The single-core score was 848 with a multi-core tally of 3121.
A commercial has already been released in South Korea focusing on the 13MP front-facing selfie shooter. The ad shows a guy on a motorcycle snapping a selfie with his Oppo R9S (before he turns the ignition on the bike, of course).
