During the AMA (ask me anything) session on Reddit, OnePlus has revealed new information on the upcoming software updates. Users of the flagship OnePlus 3 will get Android 7.0 Nougat, while the budget OnePlus X will soon get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
According to OnePlus, they are “actively working” on bringing Nougat to its flagship smartphone, but they didn’t want to share a timeline. As for the OnePlus X, the mid-range smartphone will start getting Android Marshmallow next week. Unfortunately, that will be the last major software update for the OnePlus X, since Qualcomm doesn’t want to release Snapdragon 801 graphics drivers for Nougat.
