OnePlus has been doing a very good job with its OxygenOS Beta program and has released various new ROMs over the last few weeks. The company has now offered more information on its OxygenOS Beta program, which consists of what OnePlus calls “Community builds” of its OxygenOS.
The expanded software program consists of three tiers: Closed Beta, Open Beta, and Official Release. The first tier is updated the most, but only 60 or so OnePlus community members are picked to get Closed Beta updates. Those updates are also considered as alpha builds, since there is a lot of work to be done.
The second is Open Beta, which is available to all OnePlus users who want to install OxygenOS test builds on their phones. They are supposed to be bug-free, but although they are much more stable than the Closed Beta builds, they are still not quite ready for prime time, which is reserved for Official Release.
The company will release around 4 OxygenOS community build updates for closed beta per month, 2 builds for open beta, and 1 official release every 1-2 months.
