One of the most anticipated flagship smartphones is finally official. As promised, OnePlus has took off the wraps from the OnePlus 5 smartphone during an online event and the handset is already available for pre-order. The base model costs $479 while the top model is priced at $539, and the general sales will begin on June 27.
Pretty much everything is in line with what we have heard so far. The OnePlus 5 features an aluminum unibody metal design that is just 7.25 mm thick with a ceramic fingerprint scanner and the usual Alert Slider.
Inside the chassis is a 5.5-inch 1080p Optic AMOLED display with DCI-P3 color coverage and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection that is powered by Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, 64 or 128 GB of storage and a 3,300 mAh battery. The storage uses UFS 2.1 chips, so expect great performance.
The dual rear cameras include a 16-megapixel with a wide-angle lens and large f/1.7 aperture, and a 20-megapixel telephoto lens depth-of-field effect, while the front has a 16-megapixel sensor. It runs on Oxygen OS that is based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
