Two GeForce RTX cards have been released, yet three where announced. The cheaper RTX, or less expensive model 2070 still is awaiting an actual launch. Some expected later this month, but NVIDIA finally shared the word about it.
The GeForce RTX 2070 will be available starting October 17th. The founders edition GeForce RTX 2070 will still sell for $599, which is over two hundred bucks more expensive as the GeForce GTX 1070. AIB partners will be allowed to sell the product starting at 499 USD, however as the recent 2080 and 2080 Ti launches have shown, that is not really something that seems possible as all AIB cards match Founder edition pricing (or worse). The RTX 2070 will be based on its own TU106 chip and gets 2304 shader processors, 288 Tensor cores and 36 RT processors, all tied towards 8GB GDDR6 at 14 Gbps / 256-bit.
We’re very curious how the product will perform, it will have Tensor and RT cores. It is indicated that cards like the 2050 and 2060 will launch H1 next year, likely without Tensor and RT cores. Who knows, perhaps they’ll be called GTX.
