Yesterday ZTE announced a new smartphone at a special conference. As it usually happens with ZTE handsets, this one was unveiled but not many people are aware of it. We decided to fix this shortcoming and take a closer look at the key features of the Nubia M2 as well as assess its beauty. Meet the first photos of the newly unleashed Nubia M2.
Nubia line devices have been always known for their attractive look and stellar built quality. The Nubia M2 continues the tradition by using the company’s nubiArc design concept. It comes in a metal unibody at 7mm thickness. Amount of metal is counted for 95.6%. Thus we can state it is completely made of metal. The overall body is polished, sand blasted, and goes through 72 processes to create a soft texture. Moreover, this is the first Nubia phone to come with a front-mounted fingerprint scanner. As you can guess, it’s placed under the home button.
The Nubia M2 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p resolution AMOLED screen covered with a 2.5D arc glass. There is also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB / 128GB ROM expandable up to 200GB, 3630mAh battery supporting the highest 5V / 5.2A (26W) NeoCharge flash charge, USB Type-C, dual-SIM supporting 4G network, Dolby Surround 7.1, and TruSignal Enhancement technology.
However, the highlight of this handset is the dual 13MP camera on the back. The company claims they are using a custom depth camera setup from Sony (one RGB camera sensor + a black and white sensor). Another feature of the camera include a mixed focus mode comprising of PDAF + contrast focus. This camera also features a built-in NeoVision 6.5 photography system customized for this phone. Finally, there is a 16MP single front camera at f/2.0 and supporting double fill light as well as Micron self-timer function.
There are two color options available, black gold and champagne gold.
The Nubia M2 will be available for pre-order starting March 28, and it will ship on April 2. The 4GB + 64GB model is priced at 2699 Yuan ($391), while the 4GB + 128GB variant costs 2999 Yuan ($435).
