Nokia “D1C” running Android 7.0 Nougat shows up on Geekben…

Some of you might remember that a report published earlier this year claimed Nokia would make a comeback in the smartphone business in Q4 this year. One of the rumored four new Android devices has been caught online today, after it made an appearance on the popular Geekbench benchmark database with the model name “Nokia D1C”.

The Geekbench listing reveals that the Nokia D1C is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, clocked at 1.4 GHz with the Adreno 505 GPU. In terms of memory, the smartphone will offer 3GB of RAM, which is pretty decent as well. While no other hardware specifications are listed, the smartphone went through the benchmark running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat platform. Judging by the SoC and RAM, it is quite clear that the D1C is going to be a mid-range smartphone. The D1C will most probably end up as being the entry-level device in the upcoming Nokia lineup, as the other devices are expected to be premium offerings with Quad HD resolution displays and high resolution rear cameras.

Apart from smartphones, it is rumored that Nokia (or HMD) will be introducing a new Android tablet as well, alongside its new Android smartphones. All the devices will be designed and developed by HMD global and are going to be manufactured by Foxconn. As we have entered Q4 already, we do expect to see more leaks crop up soon as the new Nokia smartphone and tablet lineup could be announced soon if they are to be released before the end of the year.
