The Nintendo Switch is doing pretty well and it debuted on the market with more sales than had been expected. Based on its initial performance, president Tatsumi Kimishima says the company expects the console to reach “relative parity” with the Wii.
If that target is reached, the Switch will end up selling over 100 million units. It sold 2.74 million during its first month. The Switch has sold faster than any other Nintendo hardware in the US.
The truth is we want to raise the installed base of Nintendo Switch up to the same level as Wii, – Kimishima
During this fiscal year, Nintendo plans to ship another 10 million Switch units.
