The curved screen has become a mainstream. But many manufacturers can’t afford themselves to make such smartphones. The reason is hidden under production duration and capacity. Other than that, curved screens require customized UI. But as we know, many Chinese manufacturers use the same UI for all products. At last, curved screens increase the price of a unit, while many of those smartphone makers try to design cheap models. However, not all manufacturers can resist the temptation not to come in with curved screen handsets. Xiaomi is one of them. It rescued and it succeeded. The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is the best curved screen smartphone currently. When saying ‘best’ we mean the most acceptable combination of design, hardware, software and pricing. As for now, the Chinese manufacturer is rumored to be in a deep cooperation with Samsung in terms of curved screens supply.
As we know, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 uses LG’s curved screens. But it has less experience in making screens and other phone components than the Korean giant, Samsung. This is considered as the main reason why Xiaomi wants to switch into Samsung.
According to the latest leaks, Xiaomi is going to close the negotiations in the nearest future. As a result, the next-gen Xiaomi Mi Note smartphones (or others) will use Samsung’s curved displays. This may affect the pricing, as it’s thought Samsung offers more expensive displays rather than LG. Currently only the Vivo Xplay 5 and 6 use displays from this range. Usually it requires some time to make same research for shipping capacity, but Xiaomi should be above of those requirements.
Well, it sounds quite reasonable that Xiaomi’s smartphones will use Samsung’s curved screens. I mean Xiaomi is entering the international high-end smartphone market and it needs more stability and better suppliers.
