We know Xiaomi is working on several smartphones that should hit the market in fall. The most anticipated phones are the Mi MIX 2, Mi Note 3 and the enhanced version of the current flagship, the Mi 6 Plus. We have heard many rumors concerning each of these devices. But seems the first of them to come our way will be the second-gen Xiaomi Mi MIX 2. If our assumptions are true, the Mi MIX 2 has been already designed and it is being tested. Today Xiaomi CEO, Lei Jun published a screenshot showing the Mi Power Bank. I guess it’s an ad poster made for New Zealand. Seems nothing strange, but the trick is that the screenshot provided by Lei Jun has unusual resolution. So we have all the reasons to think the screenshot has been taken from a new Xiaomi device, which is going to be next-gen bezel-less smartphone of the manufacturer.
The screenshot has a resolution of 1920×960 pixels. Thus the ratio is 18:9. As there is no Xiaomi handset with such a resolution screen, we tend to think it’s a new smartphone that is currently being tested. Moreover, the only device that can come with such a screen ratio is considered to be the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2.
We know the original Xiaomi Mi MIX has a screen ratio of 91.3%. Plus, we know the upcoming model will have an increased ratio of 93% at least. Still there is no info what a look and hardware the Mi MIX 2 will come with, but the company has officially confirmed this new phone is also designed by a popular designer, Philippe Starck. This means the phone will have an incredible appearance and tons of innovations like the case with the original one. It’s rumored the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will use an in-display fingerprint scanner that should appear on the Mi 5S. As for hardware, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is rumored to sport the Snapdragon 835 chip and 6GB of RAM. Thus this handset will be a real monster.
Well, let’s wait for official statement on this leak.
