Tesla enthusiasts in Italy have set a new range record with the Model S. With a single charge, they were able to take the electric vehicle 1,078 kilometers (nearly 670 miles). That record was set by the Tesla Owners Club Italia, which was using a Model S P100D, the highest-end model.
Not only did they break the prior record, they did so by a substantial margin. The prior record was around 560 miles.
It traveled the distance in 20 hours and had an average speed of ~25 mph, so they didn’t utilize normal driving patterns by any means.
