New photos of the Samsung Galaxy S8 show 3.5mm earphone jack…

Just yesterday, we passed along a leaked press render of the Samsung Galaxy S8. The image came from the Twitter account belonging to reliable source Evan Blass. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8+ will both greet the light of day in New York City on March 29th. The actual release of the phones should take place on April 21st. And that means there should be more leaked photos of the pair to be seen in the weeks ahead.

But there is no time like the present we say. The latest leaked photos of the Galaxy S8 have been disseminated today. The phone actually looks like that image Samsung showed at the end of the teaser it ran at MWC. We can see the dual-curved edge screen, smaller top and bottom bezels, and the disappearance of the home button as the fingerprint scanner is reportedly moved to the back of the handset, to the right of the camera (today’s leaks did not include a photo of the Galaxy S8’s back).

The other views include one from the bottom that reveals the inclusion of both the 3.5mm earphone jack and the Type-C port. The side views really show how long the Galaxy S8 is going to be.

We also have the latest rumored specs. The Galaxy S8 is expected to carry a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass, carrying a 1440 x 2560 resolution. In the states, we should see the Snapdragon 835 chipset under the hood, featuring an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 540 GPU. 4GB of RAM will be inside, along with 64GB of native storage. Those seeking additional storage can access the 256GB capacity microSD slot. Both the rear-facing 12MP camera and the 8MP front-facing camera will sport an f/1.7 aperture, with the selfie shooter producing wide angle images. A 3000mAh battery keeps the hamster wheel spinning.

The Galaxy S8+ will have a larger 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display protected by Gorilla Glass. The resolution remains at 1440 x 2560, and a larger 3500mAh battery is needed to power up the larger screen. Both models come with an IP68 certification rating for dust and water resistance, a fingerprint scanner, and an iris scanner.
