A report published last month had claimed LG’s upcoming G6 flagship will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC and not the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC. An alleged internal LG presentation slide that leaked online today seems to confirm the same.

As revealed in the previous report, LG was forced to opt for the Snapdragon 821 SoC as Samsung reportedly has secured the initial shipment of the new Snapdragon 835 chip for its Galaxy S8 duo. Other manufacturers are expected to receive their shipment only by mid-April, which is probably why LG decided that it cannot afford to delay the launch of the G6 until the middle of the year.

The leaked slide also confirms some of the other key highlights of the LG G6. As confirmed already, the G6 is going to feature a 5.7-inch sized display, with a 90%+ screen-to-body ratio. The other major highlight will be water and dust resistance, a feature that has been missing on LG flagships so far. Audiophiles will be glad to learn that the G6 will come with the same Quad DAC setup that LG uses on the V20. In terms of audio quality, the LG V20 is undoubtedly the best smartphone on the market currently. So if the G6 is going to feature the same audio setup as the V20, it means the G6 is going to be the best-sounding G-series smartphone from LG yet.

The LG G6 is going to be unveiled on the 26th of this month at a pre-MWC event in Barcelona.
