Two new renders of the upcoming Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones have leaked online yet again, showing off the device’s unique rear. The latest renders were shared online today by Twitter user @iamaniff.
Since the devices will carry the Pixel branding, there doesn’t appear to be a Nexus logo at the back. Instead, there will only be a standard “G” logo towards the lower portion of the back of the two devices. The upper portion, which is going to be made out glass, will house the rear camera lens, LED flash, and the large circular fingerprint scanner. While the front isn’t visible in these renders, previously leaked renders have revealed that the two HTC-made smartphones will be very similar to the HTC One A9 from the front.
The Google Pixel is expected to sport a 5” 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core SoC, 4GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB internal storage options, 12MP rear camera with large 1.5 micron pixels, 8MP selfie camera on the front, USB Type-C port, and a 2770mAh capacity battery. The Google Pixel XL on the other hand is expected to feature a 5.5” display with 1440 x 2560 Quad HD resolution, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB internal storage options, 12MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera, USB Type-C port, and a 3450mAh capacity battery. Both smartphones will also be IP53 certified, which means they will be able to handle any accidental splashes of water. On the software front, the two smartphones are likely to ship with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
Both the Google Pixel and Pixel XL will make their debut next week at a media event on October 4th. At the same event, Google is also rumored to announce a new 7” Android tablet made by Huawei, new 4K Chromecast, a Daydream VR headset, and more.
