While Google is shifting focus to Andromeda for the future, we are still seeing new Chromebooks get announced every few weeks. An upcoming Chromebook from Asus has now popped up online, on US retailer Newegg’s website. The Asus C302CA was listed on the Newegg website for a while and was later pulled down. Thankfully, the listing was spotted in time by ChromeUnboxed.
The Asus C302CA features a 12.5-inch touchscreen display with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution and is powered by an Intel Core m3-6Y30 processor under the hood. There is 4GB of RAM on offer, along with 64GB of onboard flash storage. In terms of connectivity features, the Chromebook will include 2 USB Type-C 3.1 ports, Bluetooth 4.2, headphone/mic combo jack, and a microSD card slot. It also comes with an illuminated chicklet keyboard and a premium all-aluminum build. Based on the Newegg listing, the C302CA measures 11.97” x 8.27” x 0.54” and weighs in at just 2.65-pounds.
Based on the specs, it appears the C302CA will succeed the Chromebook Flip released last year. While it isn’t clear when the Asus C302CA will be announced, there is a good chance of it showing up at CES 2017 next week. The price has already been revealed though, courtesy of Newegg. The Chromebook will be priced at $499, the same as the Samsung Chromebook Pro.
