Networking device maker Hitron reports strong earnings for 2Q16

Taiwan-based networking device maker Hitron Technologies has announced net profits of NT$77.65 million (US$2.47 million) for the second quarter of 2016, up 54.56% from a year earlier. The earnings translated into an EPS of NT$0.34 for the quarter compared to NT$0.22 of a year earlier.
For the first half of 2016, net profits totaled NT$168 million compared to NT$36.91 million recorded in the same period a year ago. EPS for the January-June period stood at NT$0.74.
The company attributed its improved earnings to rising gross margin, which increased to 25.19% in the second quarter of 2016, compared to 24.05% a quarter earlier and 20.17% a year earlier.
The company’s stock price gained NT$0.55 to close at NT$20.05 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) during the August 11 session.
