Netgear is introducing three new lines of NAS servers, intended for home (prosumer) and small office usage. The more advanced ReadyNAS 620 units even get two 10 Gigabit connections and are based on the new Intel Xeon 2.4 GHz Quad Core D-1521-processor (Hyper threaded Denverton Atom) series.
For the enthusiast class 620 series you will spot 6- and 8-bay models with a maximum capacity of 80TB as the NAS takes 10 TB HDDs. This NAS series will get a nice 8GB of ECC DDR4 memory. One step lower we spot the new 520 series which have been fitted with a Dual-core 2.2 GHz D5100 processor and will get just one 10 GBit/s connector. This range will see 4, 6, and 8-bay models and will be paired with 4 GB ECC DDR4 memory.
The lowest range would be the 420 series for which Netgear reverts towards an Intel dual-core Atom C3338 dual-core processor. These 2 and 4 bay units once again will get a Gigabit connector (10GBASE-T) and are paired with 2 GB of DDR4 memory.
Netgear is going to fit the new NAS line with a Bluetooth dongle, this way you can check status info on your smart-phone with a compatible APP. The units are also going to support the btrfs file system. Prices should be in these ranges:
