There are more people in the US with a Netflix subscription than a cable TV subscription, the streaming company has confirmed in a recent report. In its quarterly earnings report, Netflix revealed it has 50.85 million members in the US. That’s higher than the 48.61 million reported by America’s top cable companies.
A study from Leichtman Research Group in May gave some insight into the cable industry. Their report found Comcast has 22.5 million subscribers, followed by Charter at 17.1 million.
The comparison doesn’t include satellite TV companies, but it at least shows a single streaming company like Netflix can attract more people than cable TV.
