The NeeCoo V3 is an upcoming smart watch that looks really promising, it doesn’t bring nothing new to the table, but the manufacturer has promised to deliver an affordable product with the best features and quality possible. The market for this kind of products is currently over populated and this represents a challenge to any newcomer, but the NeeCoo has the potential to stand out due to its features and attractive price.
Let’s start from the beginning, shall we? The NeeCoo V3 features a 1.3-inch touch screen that supports a 240 x 240 pixel resolution; the display features corning gorilla glass and looks very responsive. The dial is protected by a metallic frame and the body is partially waterproof. The straps are made of silicone and the overall style is simple but suitable for any occasion. The NeeCoo V3 has an improved MTK2502A Chipset by MediaTek inside, alongside 64MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM for internal storage.
The NeeCoo V3 has the everyday features of smart watches and more; it counts with Siri (iOS users only), heart rate monitor, pedometer, sedentary reminder, sleep monitor, remote functions, ETC. The Bluetooth connectivity is also present and we can use it to link the device with a smartphone. This particular watch is powered by a 380mAh battery that delivers 3 days of regular usage.
The overall design is straightforward and quite simple, but still manages to look attractive, the dial is protected by a metallic frame and the straps are made of silicone and you can swap them if you wish so, they are removable for that purpose. The watch has the following size dimensions: 10.31 x 1.73 x 0.55 inches (dial and straps included), the weight is around 0.062kg, which means that is light. On the right side, you will only find the crown, while on the left side, you shall find a microphone. On the back case, you can appreciate an optical heart rate sensor and the magnetics pins for charging.
The NeeCoo V3 comes in 3 different color presentations: Black, silver, and gold. This watch is meant for everybody, men and women alike, athlete or business person. The body is partially waterproof, only for washing hands and face.
The display is an average IPS touch screen of 1.3 inches and supports 240 x 240 resolution, the dial has a rounded shape and it features a total of 4 UI designs that also change the appearance of the lock screen. The type of Glass used is corning gorilla glass, which means that the edges of the screen are round.
Chipset and memory
Everyone who pays attention to the smart watches market knows that the MTK2502 SoC (system on a chip) is the most featured on common watches, but the NeeCoo V3 has an improved version that promises to be more efficient and consumes 20% less power. However, we’ll have to wait until the official release to check that by ourselves. When it comes to memory, we have the basic amount of 64MB of RAM and 128MB ROM. Keep in mind that this is a simple device that doesn’t require too much memory to perform its activities smoothly. The internal storage is meant to save small amounts of information, sadly, it can’t be expanded.
Software and connectivity
The NeeCoo V3 is compatible with iOS (7.0 or later) and Android (4.3 or later) smartphones; it features Bluetooth 4.0 so that you can link your compatible devices and make usage of the remote features. There is also an app downloader that will allow you to add new apps to your Smartwatch. Nevertheless, don’t expect this to be a Google store of some sort, only basic apps designed for the watch will be available.
The NeeCoo V3 has several features, such as:
Siri voice control: This is the personal assistant of iOS devices and allows you to control your device by using voice commands. This feature is only available for iOS users, though.
Smart gestures: the watch can recognize certain gestures. If you raise your hand gently, the screen will be automatically lighted up. By flipping your wrist you can answer incoming calls or hang up.
Synchronization with your smartphone: once the smartwatch has been synchronized with the phone, you can receive SMS and notifications from What´s app, We-Chat, Twitter, and Facebook.
Agenda: This feature falls into the same category of the previous function, the list of contacts of your smartphone will be synchronized with the NeeCoo V3. You can also dial numbers manually if you wish so.
Remote control: You can control the camera and playlist of your phone from the watch.
Pedometer: use your watch to keep the track of the physical activities performed; it records your steps and calorie consumption.
Heart rate monitor: get heart rate data dynamically, this is especially useful while doing aerobic exercise or any kind of sport, because you will be able to measure the beats of your heat. It’s worth mentioning that this is an optical sensor, which can be found on the back cover.
Sleeping monitor: the watch monitors the time and quality of your sleep.
Sedentary reminder: to improve people’s lifestyle, this smartwatch triggers a reminder each 40 minutes to remind you to relax the body from all that hard work.
Other Applications: Such as phonebook, calculator, alarm, sound recording, stopwatch, file manager, Etc.
The NeeCoo V3 will feature a Lithium-ion Polymer Battery with a 380mAh capacity that can deliver up to 5 days in standby mode and 2 or 3 days of normal usage. The best part is that it only needs one hour to fully recharge.

NeeCoo V3: Final thoughts.
The NeeCoo V3 looks really promising but not very impressive, to be honest, it’s more of the same, but the features are quite attractive and the price is affordable. The presence of Siri is something that iOS users will surely love, the other features look great too. However, this Smartwatch lacks SIM support and doesn’t have a camera, but maybe this is asking too much for this price range. Although, we have seen some cases before.
