NEC debuts a 34-inch curved ultrawide QHD monitor

NEC has added a new curved monitor to its impressive lineup, the new MultiSync EX341R. The EX341R is a 34” sized monitor with Ultrawide 3440 x 1440 resolution and an 1800R curvature.

Unlike the vast majority of large Ultrawide curved monitors out there, the EX341R does not use an IPS panel, which is good news for folks who are more interested in a higher contrast ratio than more accurate colors and wider viewing angles. The SVA panel used on the EX341R is claimed to boast of a high 290 nit maximum brightness, 3,000:1 static contrast ratio, 5ms response time, 16.7 million colors, and 178/178 degree horizontal/vertical viewing angles.

As we have seen with other Ultrawide curved monitors in the past, the NEC EX341R too features a Flicker-free backlight that ensures your eyes don’t get too tired even when sitting in front of the display for hours. The Low Blue Light feature also helps reduce eye fatigue significantly.

Moving on to connectivity, the monitor includes 1 HDMI 2.0, 1 HDMI 1.4, and a DisplayPort 1.2 input. You also get a 4-port USB 3.0 hub with DisplaySync Pro and a pair of 1W stereo speakers.

NEC is offering the EX341R in two versions – EX341R-BK and the EX341R-SV-BK. The former is priced at $999 in the US, while the latter costs $1,149. The only difference between the two versions is that the more expensive one is bundled with the NEC SpectraViewII software which is claimed to “ensure colors are uniform and accurate”. Both versions are expected to go on sale later this month.
