Taiwan’s National Communications Commission (NCC) plans to lower fees by 10% for band units of 1-2.2GHz and 20% for those of above 2.2GHz in response to requests from 4G mobile telecom carriers, according to NCC.
In order to encourage increased mobile network coverage in remote areas, NCC plans to offer discounts of 5-15% for using frequency bands, with higher discounts for covering more population in remote areas. NCC said.
In addition, NCC plans to exempt Small Cells and low-power Wi-Fi access points from approval procedures based on technical examination, which will make network deployments easier for mobile telecom carriers.
In line with boosting IoT, NCC will release E.164 telecom numbers, 13 digits starting 040, specifically for IoT services operated by telecom carriers and allow them to sell the numbers in overseas markets.
