MSI reports strong earnings for 3Q16

Micro-Star International (MSI) has reported net profits of NT$1.615 billion (US$50.538 million) for the third quarter of 2016, increasing 74% on quarter and 41% on year. EPS for the quarter stood at NT$1.91, compared to NT$1.10 a quarter earlier and NT$1.35 a year earlier.

For the first three quarters of 2016, net profits totaled NT$3.7 billion, up 40% from a year earlier. EPS for the nine-month period reached NT$4.38, up from NT$3.13 of a year ago.

Gross margin stood at 13.5% for the third quarter and 14.58% for the first three quarters of 2016.

Meanwhile, the company reported revenues of NT$9.382 billion for October, down 14.6% on month but up 20% on year. Accumulated 2016 revenues through October totaled NT$85.03 billion, increasing 23.2% from a year earlier.

The company’s stock price rose NT$3.10 to close at NT$85.30 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) during the November 14 session.
