MSI however, has rolled out a new motherboard based on the Intel Z270 Express chipset, targeted at 7th Generation Kaby Lake processors from Intel. Of course, like other Z270 motherboards out there, the new MSI Z270 Gaming M6 AC supports older 6th Generation ‘Skylake’ processors as well.
The motherboard features a design that has been inspired from a futuristic armored spaceship. For personalization, you get MSI RGB Mystic Light illumination, allowing you to choose from various effects such as breathing, flashing, double flash, and random. All these effects as well as the colors can be customized with your smartphone, using the MSI Gaming App.
Designed for enthusiast gaming builds, the motherboard includes 6 fan headers, DC/PWM mode, full fan control, and is watercooling ready. For faster game loading times and general performance, the MSI Z270 Gaming M6 AC comes with 2 M.2 slots with M.2 Shield, Intel Optane ultra-fast storage-caching, and U.2 support. In the audio department, the board comes with Nahimic 2, Audio Boost 4, a dedicated audio amp, and high-quality audio capacitors. For fast and lag-free online gaming, MSI is using Killer E2500 Ethernet with bandwidth management, LAN protect, and Intel Wi-Fi.
