For a long time, the Motorola XT-1662 model was believed to be the long anticipated Moto X handset and the XT-1663 was just a compact version of the same handset. Over time, we have learned that the Moto X has been replaced by the new affordable Moto M series.
The Moto M (XT-1662) recently passed through China’s TENAA certification process and today it leaked online in live images. The handset still features the traditional Moto design language, but it looks more like a stylish mid-range device. There is no physical home button, only power and volume rockers. The rear side packs a single camera sensor and a fingerprint scanner. As for the specs, the handset packs a 5.5-inch 1,080 x 1,920 pixels display, 2.1 GHz MediaTek MT6755 SoC and 3 GB RAM.
The XT-1663 is rumoured to be a smaller model with a 4.6-inch display and MediaTek’s MT6750 processor. There is no word on the launch date, but we’ll keep you posted.
