Motorola unveiled the Moto Z and Moto Z Force earlier this summer, but the company left out one smartphone in the series, the Moto Z Play. Specs and images of the smartphone have been leaking even before Tech World event, but without any rumors on a release date.
Now it seems that leakster, the Malignant revealed the unveil date for the Moto Z Play, the third smartphone in the Moto Z series. The smartphone would make its debut on September 6, but sadly it’s unknown if it will be made available in other countries other than China.
A store from China has advertised the device and it’s hard to say at this point, if the Moto Z Play will be made available in the US as well, according to Phone Arena. The leakster also showed that the Moto Z Play would cost about $495 in China, certainly less than the price of Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid, released in the US at Verizon.
Moto Z Play could come with Snapdragon 625 and 3GB of RAM
As for specs, the Moto Z Play is expected to come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and have a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution, as well as 3GB of RAM and an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. It could also have a 3.5mm headset jack and be compatible with MotoMods.
Speaking of which, Motorola is expected to release another MotoMod, the Hasselblad camera module which would enhance the rear camera capacities of smartphones in the Moto Z series. The camera module is said to come with 10x Optical Zoom, a Xenon flash, physical shutter and zoom lens.
The Hasselblad MotoMod could be unveiled during the same time as the Moto Z Play, but that remains to be seen. The camera module would join the ranks of other modular accessories for Moto Z phones, like the Insta-Share Projector or the TUMI Power Pack.
